Medina Del Zoco through Leisure Connections - Mijas, Spain (Calahonda)

This year we decided to fly across the Atlantic and experience Europe starting in Spain. We booked our condo with Ali at Leisure Connections, and she got us all setup for our place at Medina del Zoco, in Calahonda which is located in Mijas, Spain. Upon arrival, we were a little confused by the entrance, but we figured it out and met Antonio who was awaiting our arrival. He knew that we had a full house and upgraded us to a larger condo that had two bedrooms with a living area and separate kitchen and two pull out sofas. Antonio was also ready to help us make reservations for various shows. Although his English was limited, we were able to understand with our limited Spanish. After looking at the website for the place I was a little concerned, but all of my concerns were alleviated upon arrival. What a great little place! The location was wonderful, it was about a 3-5 minute walk from the beach, there were bars and restaurants right across the walking path and even a grocery store. B prepared, the condo came with utensils to cook and eat with, towels, sheets and blankets, but no toilet paper, detergent, or dish soap. So we headed to the grocery store for supplies. We spent a lot of time on the beach and trying the various surrounding restaurants which included a great Italian place, a rooftop bar owned by a fun-loving Irish man with great food, a Mexican restaurant, Chinese and some other places that we didn't have time to try. For breakfast we either cooked, or wandered down restaurant row or headed to the coffee shop in the grocery store. Logistically, the community is gated, so are the condos. It was very safe feeling. The location was great. We were in apartment number one facing the ocean. We had a patio with furniture so we could enjoy the breezy weather. There was free parking very close to the condo, and bus stops nearby if you did not have a vehicle. Overall, we had a great time and loved the horse show excursion, walking along the beach, driving to Ronda, Portugal and up to Sevilla for the day. It was a great location if you are flying in and out of Malaga to see that side of Spain.

Tahoe Seasons Resort, Review May 2013

We booked a trip through Leisure Connections to Tahoe Seasons Resort for May 2013. The resort is located at3901 SADDLE ROAD SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, CA 96150, which happens to be right across the way from Heavenly ski resort. The apartment itself was a dated one bedroom, that had a hot tub in the middle of the room. Sadly there was only a microwave and a fridge and noway to cook beyond that, so there was a lot of eating out. It was off season during our time there, so it wasn't busy at all. There were some nice restaurants in the area, but nothing too fantastic. However, the resort is located right across from lake Tahoe, and there is a lot of outdoor activities. Boredom was not an issue. The condo was nice- but I later learned that I could have paide less than my membership fee for a week at that condo. Here is the link to their website.

Leisure Connections in the Outer Banks

I put in for a one bedroom timeshare at the Outer Banks and got this address:

202 Angler Way, Kitty Hawk, NC 27949, USA in Sandpiper Cay

I have visited this condo two times and loved it. It comes fully stocked with pots, pans, towels, sheets, two master bedrooms upstairs, a small balcony in one room, tv's in each room, and a pullout sofa. Cable is included, as well as a nice grill and front patio where you can store you bicycles if you brought them. The condo was very spacious, well decorated and very clean. The pool was big, nice and mostly vacant. The property is across the highway from the beach, but we brought our mountain bikes and rode over there daily. There are a few places to eat within walking distance, but nothing to special.

Kitty hawk is a good location if you want to head north and drive on the beach in Corolla, or head south into the town. Corolla is a really cool drive, especially if you have a vehicle you can take on the beach and drive past the wild horses.

Advertised Locations That Are Actually Available

Like I said previously, I have gone to the Baywatch Wyndham resort in Myrtle Beach. Yesterday when I called, they said that the St. Martin had several places and St. Thomas has a few. She also mentioned that Costa Rica was difficult to get. Please let me know if you have traveled to any other locations with Leisure Connections or are aware of additional locations beyond what the book says (or even ones that are in the book and you were able to actually book). As an update, I would like to say that I again requested a location in Central America, they came back with a place in EL Salvador, which is an extremely high-crime area, and a place in San Jose, Costa Rica, which is the capitol. I have visited San Jose, and it was not somewhere one would want to vacation. However, we did get a place in Lake Tahoe at the Tahoe Seasons Resort, in May 2013, which was quite nice in May and right across from the slopes at Heavenly ski resort, so it would be a good spot for a ski trip. We were also booked for a trip to Mijas, Spain through Leisure Connections and we will be staying at a place called Medina del Zoco in May 2014.

Leisure Connections and Member Services Inc.the company

This blog is not meant to promote either of these timeshare programs. Many customers are disatisfied with their purchases to this company and feel that they were scammed. I too felt the same way and attempted several times from 2005 to 2009 to use my timeshare unsuccessfully until 2009. If you are considering purchasing this deal, please do your research, there are a lot of fees and unhappy customers. Like I said, this blog is meant to help those who cannot get their money back use the program to their advantage. I want to get input on people who have traveled to other resorts and locations and see reviews on their trips and accomodations so that all of the members can make lemonaide out of the lemons. Thank you for reading this blog and contributing.

Leisure Connections Myrtle Beach Wyndham Resort

We stayed at the Wyndham Baywatch resort in August of 2009 through the Leisure Connections timeshare program. This was the first opportunity that I had to use this timeshare. Upon arrival, the first thing I noticed was that we had a deadbolt lock and all of the other rooms had the traditional card key. A man was cleaning our room (not a maid), perhaps he was a leisure connections or member services inc. employee, but he did not do a very good job. The resort was nice but we did not have access to most amenities since we were there with a timeshare, not a hotel guest. We did not have maid service, fresh towels, soap coffee or any of the normal things provided at a hotel. Our coffee pot was broken, the sheets, blankets and couch were stained, but everything else worked and got us through the week. We had a stove/oven, microwave, pots, pans and silverware along with a full size fridge. We did have to purchase toilet paper and paper towels for the condo, as well as dish soap, sponges, and other necessities. But like I said, the resort (as a hotel) was nice, but our room was barely livable. I have recently put in a request for Saint Martin through leisure connections and will post how that trip goes. It is scheduled for May 2011.
